This weekend, I drove from Beaumont to IAH, parked and hopped on a plane to Charlotte, North Carolina, then onto Connecticut where I took an Uber into Amherst, Massachussetts and spent the weekend at Hampshire college as well as around downtown Amherst.

Seattle, washington

01/09/19-01/19/19

I got to spend ten really nice days seeing evergreen trees, snow capped mountains, waterfalls, and a beautiful city. It was the perfect way to end winter break and relax before the start of next semester!

Fort myers, florida

This weekend, myself and th rest of the Lamar University softball team and staff drove into Houston then flew to Florida to play in a 6 game classic against FGCU, FIU, Memphis, and team Japan.

Seoul & Busan, South Korea

05/28/19-06/04/19

I had the amazing opportunity to join the summer study abroad program to south east Asia. The program was Sociology of food and culture, but I took away so much more than that in Korea. Bright lights, Kakao friends, high-technological advances, amazing hospitality, and of course beautiful street foods.

Yilan, hualien &taipei, Taiwan

06/04/19-06/12/19

For the second half of my study abroad trip, I traveled to various places in Taiwan. Here I made world-wide friends at our host university, FGU, saw lots of breath-taking scenery, drank amazing tea, and learned all about the history of Taiwan and how it became the country it is today. While similar to Korea in all the amazing foods and hospitality I received, Taiwan offered a much different experience making my trip a unique culutral experience all around.

washington dc

11/07/19-11/10/19

Myself and the rest of Dr. Dodson's Honors Topics Model UN team traveled from Beaumont to DC where we attended the National Model United Nations conference. This was the first time Lamar University sent a team to represent a country, so it was an exciting experience. We met many unique students, saw everything there is to see in DC, and became familiarized with the processes of the UN.

Midland, Michigan

05/17/2021-05/22/2021

I was able to take a fun summer trip to Michigan to visit a few friends currently participating in engineering internships. I was able to visit Frankenmuth, the year round "Christmas town," several great lakes, and sleeping bear sand dunes. this trip was a great way to explore new things and escape the Texas heat!

Chicago, Illinois

07/09/2021-07/11/2021

While it was a quick trip, I got to visit Chicago for the first time! I saw the famous "bean," tried deep dish pizza, attended the art institute, and saw famous structures for the weekend.

Reno, Nevada

07/24/2021-07/28/2021

While I was only in Reno for a coaching trip, I was able to go to Lake Tahoe for a sunset kayak which was equally beautiful and informative as we learned about the history of the lake's structures from our tour guide.

Lima, Peru

05/20/2022-05/30/2022

My ten days in Peru were spent working the mobile clinic units through MedLife, a nonprofit organization looking to improve the conditions of poverty through medicine, education, and development. While here, I assisted doctors and nurses in pharmacy, OBGYN, and family medicine while also assisting with general education to the communities we assisted. While in Lima, we also helped a local mountain community with their community development project. This project was to help move concrete across the mountain to eventually lay the foundation for a children's play area. This trip was meaningful and also allowed time for exploration of the historic Ica regions of Peru.

Europe (Switzerland, Germany, austria, italian alps, french alps, liechtenstein)

06/2023

Two incredible weeks were spent in the alpines of Europe with my parents, my college roommate, and my college teammate. Here we ate amazing food, hiked beautiful mountains, saw crystal blue lakes, famous spots, and hotel-hopped through many small ski villages.
